Business Books You Can Really Use

Are you looking for good business books? Really good ones? Ones that say:

"You... yea YOU - do you want to succeed? Then here's EXACTLY what you need to do."

Well, you found them.

That's because copywriter, business author, and marketing consultant Dan Furman does do a few things differently in his books. In both Start and Run a Real Home Based Business and Do the Web Write, Dan manages to:
  • Inform - The books offer all kinds of juicy goodness on the topics they pertain to.

  • Entertain - Dan is an engaging, funny writer, and is also a great storyteller. Learning something is so much easier when you are enjoying the ride.

  • Produce results - Perhaps the most important thing. You are buying the book for information you can USE; not to read some vague concept and say "yea, that was nice" while you go back to doing the same old stuff you always did. So Dan offers real solutions to real problems - In other words, information you can really put to use - RIGHT NOW.
Start and Run a REAL Home Based Business

An Amazon Best Seller, this is a pointed, funny, motivating nuts and bolts resource for anyone who has, or wants to start, a small business. 50+ chapters on things you must know. And don't let the title fool you - this is a great book for any type of business, beginning or established.
Do the Web Write

The whole point of a website is to get business, right? Well, this book will help any website, large or small, convert better. It goes over writing great web copy, addressing your visitor's needs, how to set up a website so people want to read it, page order, what pages to have, etc. Plus, it's just a great general copywriting book as well.

Yes, but are they readable?

How many times have you been promised something informative, but then found the material was about as interesting as watching slugs race?

And they're off!! That's not the case here. No Ivy League educated CEO droning on and on about "initiative-based strategy initiative" or the like.

To begin, copywriter / author / consultant Dan Furman is a successful self-made entrepreneur. How self made, you ask? Well, to quote his high school guidance counselor in 1984 "Well Dan, these are some... interesting scores. How do you feel about a nice, safe government job? One where they won't expect much?"

Let's just say success was not pre-ordained.

Secondly, Dan has made a career out of doing things his way, and being his own person. If Dan felt he was right, he'd do it, regardless of what the boss said (which explains the many job "incidents".) But this demeanor (along with the firings) has led to entrepreneurial success - when on his own, Dan's business savvy, determination, and instinctive "No BS" marketing know-how have led to success after success. Which he talks about in his books. Real stuff, that real people can use.

Lastly, besides being chock full of GREAT content, these books are funny. Dan is an entertaining, motivating writer, and simply "gets it". His books will make you laugh, and they'll make you cr... well, wait. Let's be honest, they probably won't make you cry. Unless, of course, somebody strikes you across the face with one of them. But even then, since they are softcover, it would probably depend on the strength of the person doing the striking, and if you were ready for the blow and... oh, nevermind. This probably won't apply to you.

Anyway, check Dan's books out - they really are worth your time.
